Toy Maker Apprenticeship

Originally released 24/12/2019
This Apprenticeship can promote into my Toy Maker Career. Ambitions is required.

Now, these Apprenticeships are, essentially, part-time teen careers. Your teens can go and apply at the associated rabbit-hole building and land themselves a three-level apprenticeship. To change the designated rabbithole to suit your own requirements, I have a tutorial HERE for you to follow. They will earn money each day and will work from 4pm-7pm, Monday to Friday.

Once your teen is promoted to Level 3, they will receive a reward certificate in their Family Inventory to put up on the wall to show off their achievements. As an additional bonus, when your teen ages up to Young Adult, when they apply for the connecting career, they’ll start at a higher level!
Each Apprenticeship has its own custom uniform. There are, currently, no opportunities. It’s challenging enough getting the teens to complete homework and build up the required skills, without throwing extra opportunities into the equation!

How The Promoting Works

When your teenage Sim ages up while employed in an Apprenticeship, they will appear to stay in the apprenticeship. In order for them to get into the “Adult” career, your Sim needs to apply for the job via the Rabbithole, or on the newspaper or computer, as normal. They will appear to only be in level one of the “Adult” career when they join, but after a few moments, it will change to a different level.
If your Sim is at Level One in the apprenticeship, they will not gain any career advancement.
If your Sim is at Level Two in the apprenticeship, they will promote into Level 4 in the “Adult” career.
If your Sim is at Level Three in the apprenticeship, they will promote into Level 6 in the “Adult” career.

Please don’t ask me to change this! It’s the way to code works in Twallan’s Careers mod and I can’t change it.

The Apprenticeship is for Teens only and is based at the City Hall and has three levels. It focuses on the Handiness and Inventing skills. The Apprenticeship is in English and supports translations in French, Dutch and German.
There are two custom tones:
Test Toys, which builds the Handiness and Inventing skills
Sit Exam, which boosts overall performance.

1. Intermediate: Stock Checker – The qualified toy makers have completed many toys and there are dozens of orders placed with the company for toys to be sent all over [TownName]. It’s up to you to make sure the right toys are in stock!
M,T,W,R,F
§10/hour
4.00pm – 7.00pm

2. Advanced: Safety Advisor – You’ve earned the title of Safety Advisor. Every toy created to be sold must adhere to the Safety Regulations and since you’ve been taught them day in, day out you should be able to assist in an advisory capacity. Just don’t get too cocky.
M,T,W,R,F
§15/hour
4.00pm – 7.00pm

3. Higher: Toy Designer – You’ve reached the final leg of your Toy Making Apprenticeship and your new title is that of a Toy Designer. This Apprenticeship can promote into my IT Career. Only the Base Game is needed.

The Apprenticeship is in English and supports Spanish, German, Russian, French, Dutch and Chinese translations.

The Apprenticeship is located at the Business and Journalism Office and has a custom uniform for all three levels. It focuses on the Handiness, Logic and Charisma skills.

Uniform for all three levels.

1. Helpdesk Professional ~ Intermediate: Your charisma skills are going to be essential here as you help customers identify problems with their laptops and computers. It’s going to be up to you to identify, troubleshoot and escalate IT problems and be as helpful to the customers as possible. But one word of advice: Don’t get angry with the impatient customers. Put yourself in their place. If your computer had crashed in the middle of your Sims legacy, you’d be upset too.
§10/hour
Hours: 4.00pm ~ 7.00pm
Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

2. Software Tester ~ Advanced: So new software is being developed all the time. But before the software can be released to the software-hungry masses, they need to be extensively tested and that’s where you come in! While you’re testing the programmes and reporting issues, you’ll be learning how to make the software so that one day, you might become a Developer yourself.
§15/hour
Hours: 4.00pm ~ 7.00pm
Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

3. Software Developer ~ Higher: Ahh, how you reminisce on the days of merely being a Tester. Okay, so it was only yesterday, but that doesn’t matter. You’re a developer yourself now and you call the shots. Sort of. You’re in charge of your own group of Software Testers who will test your pieces of software. Start small, don’t try and make a huge programme on your first try. It’s bound to end in heartache, misery and possible unemployment. Congratulations on your dedication!
§20/hour
Hours: 4.00pm ~ 7.00pm
Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

There are three custom tones; Mend Computers, which builds the Handiness skill; Troubleshoot, which builds the Charisma skill and Sit Exam, which boosts overall performance.

Uniform for Level 1

1. Receptionist ~ Intermediate: So, you’re starting an apprenticeship in Hospitality and Catering. Well, good on you! You’re not starting out in the kitchen, but as a Receptionist for the posh restaurants in town, booking tables and such. It’s all part of the hospitality and will be essential for whatever line of work you end up choosing.
§10/hour
Hours: 4.00pm ~ 7.00pm
Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

2. Waiter/Waitress ~ Advanced: As a waiter/waitress, you’re simply taking orders, giving food to the customers, clearing tables, handing out bills, collecting money, taking change and tidying the restaurant when everyone’s gone home. You’ll probably feel exhausted when you get home but just remind yourself that it’s worth it!
§15/hour
Hours: 4.00pm ~ 7.00pm
Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

3. Cook ~ Higher: Now you can be the cook! So pay close attention to the orders and don’t go cooking the wrong meals. It’s a waste of food and if you continue to do so, the restaurant owners will find you a waste of wages. And you’d have to kiss goodbye to your Apprenticeship. So, be vigilant! You’re on the last step of your catering journey and will soon be ready to be released to the hungry masses. Congratulations on your dedication!

Uniform for all three levels.

1. Painter ~ Intermediate: Splish splash, slap it on the wall! You’ve begun the first step in your Construction Apprenticeship and you’re a Painter! This isn’t painting in watercolours or oil-based paints and making pretty pictures. If that’s what you’re after, then perhaps a Fine Arts Major at University might be best for you! No, as a painter, you’re going to learn how to prepare background surfaces for painting and then apply paint by brush or roller. It might sound like pretty tame stuff, but it will provide you with challenges!
§10/hour
Hours: 4.00pm ~ 7.00pm
Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

2. Maintenance Operative ~ Advanced: You’ve earned the title of Maintenance Operative. This is really a fancy way of saying that if anything breaks, it’s your fault. Well, actually it’d be your advisors fault, but you’d share the blame. So just be vigilant, keep everything on-site in perfect working order and you’ll be able to continue your Apprenticeship with all limbs in tact.
§15/hour
Hours: 4.00pm ~ 7.00pm
Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

3. Royal Engineer (Carpenter and Joiner) ~ Higher: You’ve reached the final leg of your Construction Building Apprenticeship and your new title is that of a Royal Engineer. No, you’re not about to meet the Queen. Not unless she’s requiring a Carpenter or Joiner, at any rate. No, this title means you’re close to completing your Apprenticeship and will soon be ready to become a real Builder in the big wide world. Or at least in your local town. Congratulations on your dedication!
§20/hour
Hours: 4.00pm ~ 7.00pm
Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

There are three custom tones; Paint Walls, which builds the Painting skill; Work Out, which builds the Athletic skill and Sit Exam, which boosts overall performance.
